Stepping into the room after the ceiling had been painted black was like stepping hours forward to midnight. You could imagine an entire Louisiana bayou setting, complete with blinking fireflies and chirping crickets.
It brought to mind Melisandre’s chant from Game of Thrones,“The Night is Dark and Full of Terrors”. While Midnight on the Bayou is set at night, it’s not going to be filled with terrors. (Though there will be plenty of mysteries and surprises!)
It’s amazing what a simple coat of paint can do.
The lumber had all been delivered too. As we didn’t want our beautiful deck to look plain, it required staining. (White wine vinegar and steel wool to the rescue! Science is awesome.) We had a little staining party and took a few days to get all the wood fancied up.
It looks good, if I do say so myself.
Next, come check out the inner workings of an escape room.
